#13822 Maggie (The M pups)

Adoptable
Female, Baby Terrier x Mixed Breed,

Hi!

My name is Maggie and I came all the way from Mississippi to OPH on April 5.
I’m guessed to be a 14 week old Terrier mixed breed dog. My weight at the moment is 17 pounds, but I’ve got lots of growing to do still.

My Foster Mom says: Update - 4/26/2024
- I'm a cuddle bug who likes to lay in your lap - best snuggle buddy ever!
- I'm curious and always wants to see what you are doing -
- I like to play and I can run really fast. My foster mom laughs at my zoomies - she tells me my back legs run faster then my front legs - I love chasing and playing with my foster siblings - even though I am small, I am mighty when I play
- I am doing really good at my potty training and I do go on my pee pads in the house if I can't make it outside - I haven't had an accident in the house for a few days now - foster mom is so proud!!!
- I love exploring outside and I love to watch my foster moms chickens and ducks and sniff all the new smells - I especially love playing outside with my foster siblings
- I'm doing good walking on a leash
- I am still a little insecure and don't like to be left alone BUT Foster Mom says I am getting better about being left along because I now know Foster Mom is coming back
- I am sleeping in my crate and at first, I would cry but now I like my crate and sleep well in it (I whine now only when I need to go outside to potty)

For my forever home, I'm searching for…

- Someone who won't leave me home alone for more than 4 hours, at least not until I am older. The older I am, the more I can stay home alone. I just don't want you to get mad at me if I have accidents or chew things I'm not supposed to when you leave me for too long. I'm a puppy, so I get bored quickly and when I'm bored I could get in trouble.

- I am looking for my forever home, not my for right now home. So as I get bigger I need someone to teach me how to be the best dog I can be. I am young and still learning. You may want to teach me some new tricks like sit, stay, etc. Professional training will help me bond with you. That sounds like fun!

- I saved the most important for last. I am hoping my new mom or dad will snuggle with me, play with me and love me forever and ever!

Please note that because this puppy is so young, it has only received 2 of the required 3 puppy distemper vaccines. This is very IMPORTANT because it means that the immune system will not be fully functioning until about 16 weeks of age. Until then, the puppy MUST stay out of public places where it could be exposed to the germs of other dogs. These no puppy zones include all pet stores, dog parks, and for apartment dwellers, areas used by other dogs. These requirements are strictly for the puppy’s medical safety and longevity.

This puppy is microchipped and up to date on age appropriate vaccines and monthly preventatives.

Maggie (The M pups) Maggie (The M pups) is currently being fostered in Mechanicsville, VA.

All adult dogs, cats, and kittens are altered prior to adoption. Puppies too young to be altered at the time of adoption must be brought to our partner vet in Ashland, VA for spay or neuter paid for by Operation Paws for Homes by 6 months of age. Adopters may choose to have the procedure done at their own vet before 6 months of age and be reimbursed the amount that the rescue would pay our partner vet in Ashland.

This dog's bio is based off the experiences of the foster and/or volunteers of OPH as well as any information that we received from the shelter or previous owner. This is very important because it means that while they may act one way in the foster’s home, you may experience something different in your home.
