International Partnerships
Since 2013, OPH has partnered with international rescue organizations to expand our efforts globally. OPH believes in helping deserving dogs regardless of circumstances or location—in our eyes, rescue has no borders or boundaries. Rescuing internationally comes with a myriad of unique challenges. In regions like Kosovo and Albania, vast populations of stray and abandoned dogs face harsh winters, widespread neglect, and severe lack of veterinary care or shelter infrastructure. Local animal welfare resources are often severely stretched, leaving countless animals vulnerable to hunger, disease, and abuse. While there are horrific cases of abuse and neglect stateside, we could not turn our back to those animals in need abroad.
OPH is very selective about our organizational partners to ensure the dogs slated for international adoption are screened thoroughly for medical issues and temperament. Working directly with dedicated rescuers on the ground in Kosovo and Albania, we help bring these resilient dogs to safety. Like all our dogs, our international rescues are matched with compassionate foster homes before being adopted into permanent, loving placements.
We are proud to partner with rescue initiatives in Kosovo and Albania to give these dogs the second chance they so deeply deserve.
