Rescue Data & Financials
At Operation Paws for Homes, our mission is simple: save lives and give vulnerable animals the opportunity for a better future. We intentionally take on the animals who need us most from overcrowded, under-resourced shelters who may require significant medical or emotional support.
Our goal is to find a safe, loving, permanent home for every animal who enters our care. We work closely with a dedicated network of veterinarians, medical specialists, trainers, behaviorists, foster families, and volunteers to provide the care and support each animal needs to thrive.
We also believe that lifesaving comes with a responsibility to be honest about outcomes. Not every animal we rescue will have a live outcome. Some animals arrive with medical conditions that cannot be successfully treated, while others may have behavioral or safety concerns that make placement in a home setting impossible. When this happens, euthanasia is considered only as a last resort, after all reasonable and humane options have been carefully evaluated with our veterinary and professional partners.
We do not believe transparency means claiming that every outcome will be positive. It means being accountable for every life entrusted to us and being honest about the challenges that come with lifesaving work.
Year after year, OPH maintains a live release rate above 90%. This reflects our commitment to saving as many lives as possible while making responsible decisions that protect both animals and the communities in which they may ultimately live.
Every animal deserves our best effort. Every outcome matters. And every life entrusted to OPH deserves compassion, dignity, and transparency.

We believe that transparency is an essential part of responsible nonprofit leadership. Every donation to Operation Paws for Homes represents a donor’s trust, and we take that trust seriously.
Our commitment to transparency extends beyond the animals we save. We believe our supporters should be able to understand how OPH operates, how resources are used, and how we steward the financial support that makes our lifesaving work possible.
As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, OPH files an annual Form 990 with the IRS. These publicly available reports provide detailed information about our finances, programs, governance, compensation, and use of charitable resources. We invite you to review our 990s and learn more about how your support helps make our mission possible.
